Legacy of Culture
Fraser Valley Aboriginal Children and Family Services Society (FVACFSS) uses traditional teachings and communication techniques to provide guidance and support to children and families. This includes a full range of child welfare services as well as prevention and community development.
FVACFSS mission is to honour and respect the unique cultures of families and communities as we work together with integrity and dignity to ensure the safety and well-being of Children. We provide opportunities to enhance the understanding of aboriginal culture and tradition through educational and interactive programs.
Below, you’ll find resources to learn about aboriginal culture with everything from traditions and teachings to mythologies and legends to learning the Halq’eméylem language.
While exciting and fun, our events always hold cultural relevance and are aimed at creating a deeper connection with each child and family’s self and cultural identity.
While this isn’t a complete list of all our events, you can view them on our events calendar:
If you’d like to get involved with us, you can! We’re always looking for good people to volunteer and work with us.
