Statement regarding Kamloops Residential School and Tk’emlups te Secwépemc First Nation

Statement from Marion Mussell, Xyólheméylh Board President

It is with heavy hearts that our agency stands with Tk’emlups te Secwépemc First Nation and the many other Indigenous Communities at this difficult time as we come to grips with the discovery of the mass grave of 215 children who attended this residential school.

In this time of grieving, remembrance and honoring our children past and present, Xyólheméylh Board of Directors extends a message of healing support and compassionate prayers to all whose lives that are touched by the discovery of our children whose were taken before they had a chance to live and be nurtured as is the right of all children.
